Who We Are

Josh Doughty

Lead Pastor

Pastor Josh grew up as a pastor’s kid, (“PK”), but did not receive his calling to become a pastor until life had taken him on a few detours leading him to ultimately say “yes” to God and “no” to himself.

He graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in English and got his Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.

Josh enjoys all things related to the Minnesota Wild, Twins and Vikings, takes pride in beating his kids in video games, can answer every question on Jeopardy!, and can usually be seen in the community helping coach the Marshall Mites hockey team and serving on the Marshall Area Hockey Association Board.

Prior to serving Cornerstone, he pastored churches in Sleepy Eye, Rochester and  Springfield.

Josh and his wife, Kristen have four boys, a French bulldog named Samson and live in Marshall.

Van Batavia

Director of Youth and Children's Ministry

Christina was born and raised in Springfield, MN, where she quite literally grew up in the Springfield UMC, where her mother was (and still is) the administrative assistant. She is an avid camp advocate, having gone to a Bible camp every summer from kindergarten up through freshman year of college. Christina’s love for mission is almost as much as her love for teenagers, yeah - she’s that special kind of person. She focuses on building trusting, fun relationships with her kids and youth with Jesus as the focus. When she’s not drinking coffee with her youth or spectating at a sporting event, Christina enjoys frequenting Hobby Lobby, Target, and TJ Maxx. So basic.

Christina, her husband Taylor, and their three children *cough* dogs, live in Marshall where they love to go on walks, visit the dog park, and cheer on the Denver Broncos.

Mandee Brinkman

Administrative Assistant

Mandee grew up in Pierre, SD until she and her family moved to Marshall in October of 2015. In her free time she enjoys playing softball and volleyball, hanging out with friends and family, traveling and working out. She is an Indianapolis Colts and North Carolina Tarheels fan. She and her husband Chris have two boys and a dog which keep them busy and active.
